CAMPUS DIVERSITY ISSUES

From her early experiences as a faculty member, her leadership of the Iowa Civil Rights Commission and her administrative experience as a hiring official, Bataille has developed strategies and mechanisms to improve the diversity of higher education institutions.  In North Carolina she worked with five HBCUs, and she has been engaged by presidents of Hispanic-Serving Institutions committed to moving beyond the rhetoric of diversity to the reality of inclusion.  She has been personally and professionally committed to ensuring that the pipeline to leadership in higher education is diverse. She is prepared to work with faculty, department chairs, deans or the cabinet to assess the current status of an institution’s diversity efforts and develop strategies to meet new goals. In 2015 and 2017 she served as a member of the Steering Committee for the Kellogg/NADOHE Chief Diversity Officer Summit at Northwestern University that brought together CDOs from higher education, corporations, the military and non-profit organizations.
